London, 29 October 2026 – Experian and Solidatus have today announced a new partnership to give businesses greater confidence in their data, a clearer view of how data moves across their operations, and the ability to rapidly determine the potential impact and root cause of data issues.
Solidatus' business and technical data lineage capabilities will be integrated into Aperture Data Studio, Experian's data intelligence platform, which helps organisations understand, improve and govern their data so that it can be used with greater confidence across operational, analytical, regulatory and AI use cases.
By bringing together data quality, governance and lineage, the integration helps organisations build trusted data foundations for AI and enable more confident decision-making, faster innovation and greater trust in AI-driven outcomes.
The combination addresses a common challenge for organisations managing increasingly complex data estates: identifying that a data quality issue exists is often only the first step. Businesses also need to understand what the data means, whether it can be trusted, who is responsible for it, where it came from, which systems, reports or processes may be affected, and how best to remediate it. This becomes increasingly difficult as data moves across multiple platforms and legacy systems.
Solidatus automates the discovery and mapping of data lineage using connectors, code scanning and AI-assisted curation. Combined with Experian's capabilities for profiling, validating, improving and governing data, the partnership helps organisations quickly understand the source and impact of data issues, accelerate remediation, and build trust and confidence in the data being used for critical business processes.
Andrew Abraham, Global Managing Director of Experian Data Quality, said: “By bringing Experian and Solidatus together, our customers can connect two sides of the same problem. Experian helps organisations assess, improve, contextualise and govern their data, while Solidatus adds detailed traceability of how that data moves and changes.”
“Together, that gives organisations a much more complete picture: whether their data is reliable, what it means, where it came from and where it is used. Crucially, it also helps them demonstrate that they understand and have control over the data on which important business, regulatory and AI decisions depend.”
Mark Willems, Associate Director of Metadata and Data Management, British Business Bank, said: “As a customer of both Experian and Solidatus, we see real value in bringing data quality, governance and lineage more closely together. A more connected approach has the potential to reduce complexity and give our teams a clearer understanding of the data they rely on across the organisation.”
Stewart Bond, Vice President of IDC's Data Integration and Intelligence Software service, IDC, said: “Data quality, governance and lineage have traditionally been treated as separate disciplines, but organisations increasingly need a connected view. Combining quality information with detailed lineage can show whether data can be trusted, how it moves through the enterprise and where issues could have an impact.”
The integration also enriches the Solidatus lineage map with information from Aperture Data Studio, including data quality metrics, business definitions, ownership details, and regulatory context, giving organisations a more complete view of their data estate.
This connected view is especially important in regulated environments. Organisations increasingly need to evidence where critical data comes from, how it has been transformed, who owns it, whether it meets defined quality standards, and where failures could have an impact. Combining Experian's data quality and governance capabilities with Solidatus' lineage helps organisations strengthen data controls, demonstrate compliance and meet regulatory requirements such as BCBS 239 and DORA.
The same foundations are increasingly important for AI. Trusted AI depends on trusted data. By bringing quality, governance, context and lineage together, Experian and Solidatus can help organisations establish trusted, traceable data for existing regulatory obligations and emerging AI governance requirements, enabling rapid innovation without losing visibility or control.
