Experian wins back-to-back Plutus Awards for Best Use of Social Media by a Brand

Sixth annual awards announced during the 2015 FinCon Expo financial conference

Costa Mesa, Calif., Oct. 21, 2015 — Experian®, the leading global information services company, was honored with the Plutus Award for Best Use of Social Media by a Brand for the second year in a row. The Plutus Awards is the premier financial blogger awards show and is held at the annual FinCon Expo.

“Experian has continued to set the bar for how a brand should interact with consumers and the financial services industry to promote financial education,” said Luke Landes, founder of the Plutus Awards and the popular Website Consumerism Commentary. “The company impressed the Plutus Awards committee with its innovation, consistency and ability to leverage every social channel. We commend Experian for its achievement and appreciate its continual support of financial media.”

For more than 20 years, Experian has been committed to improving consumer financial literacy and is dedicated to providing products and services that help consumers manage their credit reports and credit scores better.

Experian uses multiple platforms to engage and provide education to consumers, including the weekly #CreditChat on Twitter, the daily #CreditScope on Periscope, podcasts and financial education sessions presented by Experian Education Ambassadors.

“Our mission is to help consumers navigate the world of personal finance and the role credit plays in our lives. To be recognized with a Plutus Award two years in a row is an honor, and reinforces that we are doing the right things to achieve our mission of helping consumers,” said Michael Delgado, senior social media manager at Experian North America. “Experian aims to create content and build relationships that enhance financial literacy. We are thankful to the financial community for their continued support of this mission, and once again recognizing Experian for it.”

The finalists for the Best Use of Social Media by a Brand category included Go Banking Rates, SmartAsset, American Express and Tangerine. The finalists are judged by a panel of independent financial media professionals who use nominations from a variety of audiences to determine the winner. While each blogger might have a unique reason for choosing a nominee, in general, the finalists and ultimately the winner in this category will have shown achievement in engaging the blogging community and working with bloggers as partners.
