Experian honored by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling for empowering consumers to better manage their financial lives
Experian’s North American CEO presented with the Making the Difference Partner award at the 48th Annual Leaders Conference
Costa Mesa, Calif., Oct. 9, 2013 — Experian®, the leading global information services company, was recognized by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) for its consumer advocacy around financial literacy, earning it the esteemed Making the Difference Partner award. The award was presented to Experian’s Victor Nichols, chief executive officer, North America, by the NFCC at the organization’s 48th Annual Leaders Conference in Denver.
The NFCC’s Making the Difference Partner award was inaugurated in 2005 and honors individuals from organizations who have made significant contributions to assisting consumers with financial literacy, awareness and education, furthering the NFCC’s mission, visions and programs through a national presence.

The NFCC’s Annual Leaders Conference addresses relevant and timely topics affecting the credit counseling sector. Attendees convene to network and to learn more about the latest developments in the housing, bankruptcy, legislative and financial education sectors.
Experian’s Maxine Sweet, vice president of public education and last year’s Making the Difference award recipient, along with Rod Griffin, director of public education, hosted the Being a Credit Ambassador workshop at the conference for NFCC educators and counselors. The session led by these two public education leaders included an in-depth look at how to guide consumers in building and restoring their credit, fraud prevention and learning to manage their credit and debt.
