Experian Marketing Services appoints Alok Kapur as global head of mobile strategy
New mobile service to measure audience activity across mobile devices
New York, N.Y., August 13, 2012 — Experian Marketing Services, a leading provider of data, analytics and marketing technologies that help organizations target and engage their customers more effectively across both traditional and digital media, today announced that Alok Kapur will lead the business strategy for Experian Marketing Services’ mobile rollout across all markets.
“Experian Marketing Services provides organizations with a unique and powerful ability to link online and offline data to seamlessly measure audiences on any mobile device, anywhere, at any time,” said Matt Seeley, president of Experian Marketing Services. “With Alok’s experience, we are in a solid position to continue building our mobile initiatives and help our clients grow and capitalize on the evolving digital marketplace.”
The marketing landscape continues to get more complex as the proliferation of channels accelerates with more consumers adopting smarter digital technology, making mobile Internet usage a part of everyday life. As that happens, consumers are choosing which media best fits their lifestyle and interests, leading to an increasingly fragmented media landscape for marketers. Experian Marketing Services continues to vigorously invest in its digital capabilities to support the evolving needs of marketers around the world.
“At Experian Marketing Services, we’ve developed a game-changing approach for the mobile industry by combining our data strength in management, measurement and segmentation to enable the mobile B2B marketplace,” said Kapur, vice president, global head of mobile for Experian Marketing Services. “We’re in a unique position to unleash our mobile partner data and link it with our own offline consumer data to help drive an increase in mobile revenue for our clients and partners.”
Kapur’s appointment to vice president, global head of mobile further demonstrates Experian Marketing Services’ commitment and investment in mobile marketing. Before joining Experian, Kapur was vice president of global business development at Adenyo/Motricity Inc. Adenyo was a leading innovator in the mobile advertising infrastructure arena prior to its acquisition by Motricity Inc. Prior to Adenyo, he held senior positions at Microsoft in the Mobile Display Advertising and Search Monetization business, where he was responsible for defining the strategy and product plans in the advertising ecosystem. Kapur also was involved in product planning for the Windows Platform team, driving partner strategy for the Windows Phone team and spent time in the Corporate Strategy team at Microsoft. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Kapur also has spent time driving business development and marketing for small growth companies, focused on customer acquisition and product launches.
