Jennifer Leuer of Experian's ProtectMyID™ joins Identity Theft Resource Center® Board of Directors
Identity theft professional to lend knowledge and insight as an industry leader in consumer protection
Irvine, Calif., June 1, 2011 — The Identity Theft Resource Center®, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to the understanding of identity theft and related issues, announced today that Jennifer Leuer, SVP of Product and Membership at Experian Consumer Direct, which owns ProtectMyID™, will serve on its Board of Directors. Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to the ITRC Board and will help the organization in its efforts to continue broadening the scope of their mission.
The ITRC, founded in 1999, is a non-profit organization established to support victims of identity theft in resolving their cases, and to broaden public education and awareness in the understanding of identity theft. It is the on-going mission of the ITRC to assist victims, educate consumers, research identity theft and increase public and corporate awareness about this problem.
“The Identity Theft Resource Center is truly committed to helping victims of identity theft and we share their passion for educating people about this crime and helping them get their lives back if they have been victimized,” said Leuer. “I’m honored to be chosen as a Director on their Board and look forward to helping the ITRC accomplish its goals.”
“We welcome Jennifer Leuer’s input and ideas for the future of the ITRC. With her experience and knowledge she will be an excellent voice on the governing body of this organization,” said Linda Foley, Chairman of the Board. “The ITRC Board of Directors keeps a constant eye on the financial management of the nonprofit, offers assistance and guidance on problems that may arise, and helps to identify funding sources for the Center. Our Board is a critical part of the transparency the ITRC maintains, the direction it goes in, and the positions it takes in this ever-changing world of identity theft. Jennifer’s experience with identity theft issues will deepen ITRC’s knowledge and continue to help us collaborate with those battling this crime,” continued Foley.
In addition to Leuer, the other external members of the ITRC’s board are: Mike Cook, Identity Business Executive, Early Warning Services; Ron Davis, Senior Director / Brand Protection, Qualcomm, Inc.; Julie Fergerson, Vice President of Emerging Technologies, Ethoca; James Lee, Vice President, Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU); Dr. Charles E.
