freecreditscore.com™ band to rock the stage at 2011 SXSW
The American Secrets, to open for Liz Phair at the IFC Crossroads House at SXSW

Irvine, Calif., March 10, 2011 — After just completing a Live Nation® tour and a performance on Lopez Tonight!, the freecreditscore.com band, also known as The American Secrets, will make their SXSW debut on Friday, March 18, at 8 p.m. They’ll be playing in a free concert at the IFC Crossroads House at SXSW in downtown Austin (East 7th and Brazos). Opening for indie pop-rock star Liz Phair, the band will perform songs from their recently released CD, as well as songs heard in the freecreditscore.com advertisements.

In addition to the concert, a freecreditscore.com-branded photo booth will be available at the IFC Crossroads House at SXSW for festival guests to capture the excitement and post to their Facebook pages. For every picture taken at the photo booth, the brand will donate $1 to the GRAMMY Foundation®, a nonprofit organization that works to bring national attention to important issues such as the value and impact of music and arts education.

“Pop music and pop culture have played an integral role in helping freecreditscore.com successfully reach a broader demographic,” said Mike Dean, president of Experian Consumer Direct.  “SXSW offers a unique opportunity to generate awareness in a fun and interactive setting for the freecreditscore.com brand, while also helping to benefit a charity that equally appreciates and understands the importance of music.”

The freecreditscore.com band won a 2010 summer-long, nationwide band search where America voted to help determine who would star in Experian’s freecreditscore.com advertising campaign. Since being selected as the freecreditscore.com band, The American Secrets have rocked stages throughout the country as part of the Live Nation® Fearless Friends Tour.

“We appreciate the innovative and interactive way that freecreditscore.com is helping to raise funds for our GRAMMY in the Schools® music education programs for high school students and schools,” said Kristen Madsen, Senior Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation. “Creative promotions like this partnership can also help further general awareness of our work.”
