Experian honored with a Plutus Award for “Best Use of Social Media by a Brand”
Fifth annual awards announced during the FinCon Expo financial conference in New Orleans, La.

Costa Mesa, Calif., Sept. 29, 2014 — Experian®, the leading global information services company, can now proudly tweet with the hashtag #PlutusWinner as it was the honored recipient of the Plutus award for “Best Use of Social Media by a Brand.” The Plutus Awards is the premier financial blogger awards show, which was held this year at the New Orleans Marriott on Sept. 20, 2014, as part of the annual FinCon Expo.

“The Plutus Awards honors not only bloggers, but financial-services companies, such as Experian, which was nominated and chosen in the ‘Best Use of Social Media by a Brand’ category by an independent blogging community,” said Luke Landes, founder of the Plutus Awards and the popular Website Consumerism Commentary. “This community carefully takes into account how companies use social media to interact with their customers, how they resolve consumers' issues and how they otherwise use various types of social media to interact with the public. Experian has excelled in these efforts, and that has been recognized by the expert community of financial bloggers.”

Nominations for the "Best Use of Social Media by a Brand" category are open to every independent blogger or publisher who focuses on personal finance or a related topic. Every individual who places a nomination is free to use his or own criteria for judging. While each blogger might have a unique reason for choosing a nominee, in general, the finalists and ultimately the winner in this category will have shown achievement in engaging the blogging community and working with bloggers as partners.

“Experian is so honored and appreciative to be named a Plutus award winner. Knowing that this award was voted on by the blogging community makes it even more meaningful,” said Michael Delgado, social media community manager at Experian North America. “This type of recognition drives us to further our commitment to financial literacy and seek new ways to continue being a trusted resource when it comes to credit and financial education.”
