Communities

Our responsibility: Play an active part in social and economic regeneration in our communities, be they local, national or global.

Experian has a long history of taking an active role in the communities where we operate and there are multiple benefits. It helps us meet some of our organisational goals for people development and is popular with colleagues. It makes a real difference to the organisations we are involved with and it supports our business objectives, since our core theme is the promotion of financial understanding and development of entrepreneurship. This focussed support ensures we are contributing to the long-term financial health of consumers, as well as the overall reduction of poverty.

Each region leads its own programme of local activities, ensuring they remain relevant and focused on regional priorities.

The regions also bid for funds for projects that satisfy the Group’s criteria of supporting financial education and entrepreneurship. These are then delivered locally, often in partnership with a national charity or foundation.

The amount donated by Experian plc and by its regional subsidiary businesses has increased every year to date and is reported in full in our annual report and CR report in the performance section. Our case studies give examples of some of the projects we have undertaken and the benefits we are seeing as a result.
